<p>Five athletes who competed at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 23 have won $200 gift prizes for the&nbsp;<a title="https://shop.worldathletics.org/" href="https://shop.worldathletics.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">World Athletics online store</a>.</p>
<p>The athletes, who raced in the event in Australia last month, were selected in a draw from among almost 100 athletes who participated in a post-competition sustainability survey.</p>
<p>The surveys, conducted after World Athletics Series events since early last year, will provide valuable data and feedback as World Athletics continues to embed elements of sustainability into the delivery of its events and operations and continues to engage other stakeholders, including athletes and fans, in its sustainability initiatives.</p>

<p>Social responsibility is a key element of the World Athletics Strategic Plan and we are ready to activate a worldwide network of Area Associations, Member Federations, local organising committees, athletes, volunteers, families, sponsors and other public institutions who believe in the values of our sport. Social Responsibility also allows athletics to be seen as more than just 'another performance-driven sport' but as something with much more to offer - a true vehicle thorugh which to help build a better world.</p>

<p>We can use athletics to bring people together and to help overcome the challenges caused by social inequality.</p>
