Live stream of Press Conference to launch 2014 IAAF Diamond League season

Doha will stage the first of 14 IAAF Diamond League meetings in 2014, the fifth year of the sport’s premier one-day meeting circuit.

The official Doha 2014 press conference to launch the series takes place in the Ballroom of the InterContinental ‘Doha the City’ hotel. Lamine Diack, IAAF President and Chairman of the Board, Diamond League AG will be joined by Dahlan Al Hamad, president of the Qatari Athletics Federation & Asian Athletics Association and an IAAF Vice President.

The guest athletes who will greet the media are Jamaica’s 2013 World Athlete of the Year Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Ethiopia's Genzebe Dibaba. this year’s multiple middle distance world record breaking sensation, local hero Mutaz Barshim, who is the 2014 World Indoor Championships high jump gold medallist, and another rising star Jamaican Warren Weir, a World Championships and Olympic Games sprint medallist.

The press conference on Thursday 8 May will start at 11:00 local time in Doha (Asian standard time) / 08:00 GMT and will feature an important announcement concerning the future of the IAAF Diamond League.
