It has become a annual tradition that the IAAF publishes its ‘end-of-year reviews’ on the IAAF website. The 2013 series, which is composed of 10 event category reviews, will begin on Monday.

The authors once again are the renowned statisticians A Lennart Julin (SWE) and Mirko Jalava (FIN), with the race walk reviews provided by Paul Warburton (GBR).

The analyses of 2013 begin with a look at the race walks (23 December) followed by the relays (Tue 24), the latter being a new introduction this year in advance of the first edition of the IAAF World Relays next May.

After the Christmas Day break, the reviews continue with combined events (Thu 26), throws (Fri 27), jumps (Sat 28), hurdles (Sun 29), road running (Mon 30), long distance, including the steeplechase (Tue 31), middle distances (Wed 1), and the series concludes with their opinions about this past year’s action in the sprints (Thu 2).

The event category reviews will then be followed with a look back on a daily basis at the 2013 IAAF Challenges – the Race Walking Challenge, the Hammer Throw Challenge, the Combined Events Challenge and the World Challenge – before we conclude with a summary of the action from the 2013 IAAF Diamond League.

Please note that the IAAF website will be updated on a daily basis throughout the seasonal holidays with the exception of 25 December.
