Seven Olympic champions and nine European champions will compete at Berlin’s ISTAF meeting, part of the IAAF World Challenge, on 3 September.

In addition to Germany’s Thomas Rohler and Christoph Harting, the other Olympic gold medallists set to compete in Berlin’s Olympiastadion are Brazilian pole vaulter Thiago Braz da Silva, Kenyan 800m runner David Rudisha, US long jumper Tianna Bartoletta, Croatian javelin thrower Sara Kolak and US shot putter Michelle Carter.

The discus in particular promises to be exciting as Harting takes on his brother, Robert, who preceded him as the Olympic champion.

The ISTAF organisers have also announced the participation of nine European champions: Polish 800m runner Adam Kszczot, pole vaulter Robert Sobera, discus thrower Piotr Malachowski, middle-distance runner Angelika Cichocka, German steeplechaser Gesa Felicitas Krause, sprint hurdler Cindy Roleder, triple jumper Max Hess, and shot putters Christina Schwanitz and David Storl.
