Women's 100m.l., First roundall heats

Overall the first round of this event didn't produce any big surprises. All favourites advanced to the next round taking their first steps very easily, so there were no great times.

European and record holder Christine Arron proved to be fully recovered from injury clocking 11.10. Defending champion Marion Jones slowed down in the final metres, winning her heat easily in 11.22 (wind -0.6). The American remains unbeaten in this event this season.

Behind Arron was twice European Champion Russian Irina Privalova came second in 11.45.

American Champion Inger Miller also advanced by winning her heat in 11.21.
