Preview: women's 100m hurdles – IAAF Continental Cup Ostrava 2018

After piecing together an impressive season, world record-holder Kendra Harrison will arrive in this eastern Czech city difficult to beat. Harrison has won seven of her nine competitions including the notoriously difficult US title as well as NACAC top honors and leads the world at 12.36.

Her Americas teammate Danielle Williams also brings strong credentials to the line, including the 2015 world title and 2018 victories in Oslo and the Jamaican Championships. She clocked her 12.48 season's best when finishing second in Stockholm.

Europe come armed with talent as well, led by rising star and continental champion Elvira Herman, who has improved to 12.64 this year, and Germany's Pamela Dutkiewicz, the bronze medallist at the World Championships last year and runner-up at the European Championships this year.

African and Commonwealth champion Tobi Amusan leads her continent's charge while Michelle Jenneke of Australia is the leading hope for Asia-Pacific.
