All but two of the world’s top seven one-lap hurdlers will compete in Marrakech, led by Diamond Race winner Kaliese Spencer who has headed the world list since the Jamaican Championships in June and won six of her seven IAAF Diamond League races plus Commonwealth gold.

A Continental Cup win would neatly round off what has been a near-perfect season for Spencer, but she will face stiff competition from her Americas team-mate, US champion Kori Carter, the world No.2 this year.

European gold and silver medallists Eilidh Child and Anna Titimets are poised to take advantage should either of those two make a mistake, but Bahraini record-holder Kemi Adekoya will need to rediscover her early season form to make an impact.

Adekoya is partnered by Commonwealth finalist Lauren Wells, a former heptathlete, while South Africa’s Wenda Nel will be hoping the Marrakech magic strikes thrice – she set her personal best here in June and won the African title in this stadium in August ahead of her Africa team-mate Amaka Ogoebune.
