Usain Bolt (AMEJAM) was out fastest, but as they came off the turn he and Wallace Spearmon appeared to be about even with plenty air between them and the rest of the field.

Bolt appeared to take a slight leading halfway down the straight, but Spearmon surged with 20 metres to go and won by a few inches, 19.87 to 19.96, in still air.

"I said I wanted to finish this season with a very fast time," said winner Spearmon. "I did it in Athens and besides the bad weather I am very happy."
