Jamaica’s Omar McLeod and France’s Pascal Martinot-Lagarde won their respective semifinals with identical times of 7.52 to set the stage for the final in two hours.

Martinot-Lagarde, silver medallist two years ago in Sopot, edged USA’s Jarret Eaton in a photo finish in the first semifinal. Both ran 7.52, a season’s best for the American.

Despite a slight stumble out of the blocks, McLeod easily won the second semifinal ahead of France’s world leader Dimitri Bascou, who ran 7.63.

Hungary’s Balazs Baji, Barbados’s Shane Brathwaite, US Virgin Islands’ Eddie Lovett and USA’s Spencer Adams complete the list of medal contenders in what will be their first final at a senior global event.
