Olympic pole vault champion Renaud Lavillenie will compete at the Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe on 6 February, the first IAAF World Indoor Tour meeting of 2016.

He is the first top name confirmed for the meeting, which takes place in exactly 100 days’ time, and he has fond memories of competing in the German city.

In 2013 he won with 5.83m to defeat Germany’s leading vaulters and then he triumphed again in Karlsruhe earlier this year with a meeting record of 5.86m.

The Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe is the first of four competitions that make up the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Tour series. The circuit includes meetings in Stockholm, Glasgow and Boston.
