Antonella Palmisano and Massimo Stano, the Olympic 20km race walk champions, will compete for Italy at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships Antalya 24 on 21 April.
The two global gold medallists are part of a strong marathon race walk mixed relay squad for Italy, alongside 2023 European Team Championships winner Francesco Fortunato and Olympian Valentina Trapletti.
It’s possible for countries to qualify two teams for the marathon race walk mixed relay at the Paris Olympics, and Italy will have high hopes of doing that in Antalya.
In the 20km races, the team includes 2019 world 50km bronze medallist Eleonora Giorgi and European U23 silver medallist Alexandrina Mihai in the women’s race, plus Olympian Andrea Agrusti in the men’s event.
European U20 medallists Giulia Gabriele and Giuseppe Disabato are named for the U20 10km events.
