Three of the four women who led USA to 4x200m victory in Nassau last year will return to the Bahamian capital.

Shalonda Solomon, Tawanna Meadows and Kimberlyn Duncan will be hoping that the addition of world junior 200m champion Kaylin Whitney, still only 17, will help them improve on their winning time of 1:29.45 from 2014. 2011 NCAA 100m champion Candyce McGrone and 2012 Diamond Race winner Charonda Williams are also on the US squad.

Having anchored Jamaica to a third-place finish in 2014, multiple world and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce returns to Nassau in a bid to challenge for victory. Joining her on the team are two-time Olympic 200m champion Veronica Campbell-Brown, 2008 Olympic 400m silver medallist Shericka Williams, 2008 Olympic 100m silver medallist Sherone Simpson and world 4x100m champion Schillonie Calvert.

The Bahamian team features three women who have won world junior titles. 2012 world junior 100m and 200m champion Anthonique Strachan will team up with 2010 world junior 400m champion Shaunae Miller and 2008 world junior 200m champion Sheniqua Ferguson. It is altogether a stronger team than the one that finished fourth in a national record of 1:31.31 last year.

With the inclusion of Blessing Okagbare, Nigeria also looks set to improve on their performance from last year and could even get among the top three.
