Event Report - Boys' 400 metres Hurdles Semi-Finals

USA’s David Klech ran a World leading time of 50.96 to win his heat of the boys 400 metres Hurdles semi-finals, holding off the fast finishing Adel Jaber Asseri from Saudi Arabia, who clocked a personal best of 51.13 in second place and Wiekus Jonck (RSA),who also ran a PB of 51.22.

They will be joined in the final tomorrow by Sudan’s Salith Dar, the fourth finisher in this heat, with another PB – 51.62 – to advance.

The second heat was won convincingly by Abdulagadir Idriss from Sudan, who provoked an initial recall for a false start.

The inexperienced - but obviously talented youngster  – often looking as though he was going to lose his balance and fall – made up for any stylistic failings by his speed between the obstacles.

Idriss finished in a PB of 51.02 ahead of Mohammed Daak of Saudi Arabia (51.66), Romel Lewis of Jamaica (51.92) with Timothy Grier of USA (52.13) completing the roster for tomorrow’s final.
