Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be represented by 27 athletes at the IAAF World Youth Championships, Cali 2015 in Colombia on 15-19 July.

Hannah Brier will be looking to continue her spectacular start to the season after clocking 11.44 at the recent National Junior Championships, making her the fastest youth in Europe this year over 100m.

Fellow European youth leaders Catherine Reid and Cameron Tindle have been selected in the girls’ 400m and boys’ 200m respectively.

Other athletes who will be targeting a place in their respective finals are sprint hurdler Alicia Barrett and triple jumper Naomi Ogbeta  along with middle-distance runners Carys McAuley, Alex Yee and James Gormley.

“We have a really promising team heading to Cali and I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform on the world stage in this age group,” said team leader Alan Richardson.

“The athletes selected show potential to be competitive at world level and I am sure they will perform excellently as well as using this championship as a springboard to longer term senior success.”
