The Turks and Caicos Islands National Stadium track has been completed and is now ready to host the 36th CARIFTA Games, which will be held on the Easter weekend and will feature a number of countries from across the region, in easily the biggest ever sporting event to be staged on the islands.

The meet will be held from 7-9 April and there are expected to be over 500 athletes competing in the junior and youth age groups. The three days of action should give good pointers to the form of the regions youth athletes ahead of the 5th IAAF World Youth Championships (11-15 July 2007) which takes place in Ostrava, CZE.

Approximately 26 nations will be sending their best young athletes to the Games including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent/Grenadine, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago, and the US Virgin Islands.
