Athletics Australia has named a 60-strong team for the World Athletics U20 Championships Cali 22, taking place at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Colombia from 1-6 August.

The Australian team, which features 27 Australian U20 champions, includes a mix of experience. Tokyo Olympic 4x400m team member Ellie Beer competes in both the individual and relay events and will be joined by athletes including Australian U20 record-holder Aidan Murphy and Torrie Lewis, who has had a breakthrough sprint season proving competitive with senior ranked athletes.

Olivia Sandery and Alanna Peart will compete internationally for the second time this year after claiming team silver at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships Muscat 22, while Delta Amidzovski, who collected four titles at the 2022 Australian Track and Field Championships, will be the youngest on the team at the age of just 15.

The team will also feature twins, with Jasmin and Isabella Guthrie competing in the 400m and 400m hurdles respectively. Both are also in the squad for the 4x400m.
