Great Britain’s Morgan Lake continued her strong streak in the heptathlon’s third event, putting up a 14.17m shot put in the first round to win her second event and add 805 points to her total.

Austria’s Verena Preiner at 13.65m and the USA’s Shaina Burns at 13.59m had the next best marks.

Lake holds the lead with 2901 points after three events.

Cuba’s world junior champion Yorgelis Rodriguez reached 13.16m picked up 738 points to move into second overall, with a total of 2694 points. Nadine Visser of the Netherlands fell back to third with 2686 points, having scored only 706 with her 12.68m mark.
