Athletics leadership in India has embraced the opportunity to evolve the sport through the Global Conversation.

Launched last month by World Athletics, the campaign provides a unique moment for the worldwide network of athletes, officials, coaches, event organisers and anyone with an interest in the sport across the 214 Member Federations to have their voice heard on the future of the sport.

All feedback will be compiled until the end of April and provide the foundation for the World Plan for World Athletics 2022-30.

Operating in the world’s second largest national population of more than 1.3 billion people, President of the Athletics Federation of India Adille Sumariwalla is aware of the potentially enormous impact of the Global Conversation.

Reported by India’s Times Now news site, he said:  “The Global Conversation for the Future of Athletics is a pertinent forum that has been developed by World Athletics. The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) stands to benefit a great deal from this global feedback mechanism as we aim to promote and nurture the athletics ecosystem here in India in our endeavour to take it a notch higher.

“Together with our athletes, coaches and stakeholders, this platform will provide all the right insights and best practices that will help us embrace contemporary methods to ensure the country’s vast talent pool is tapped at the right time.”

To have your say on the future of athletics, please complete the survey by the end of April.
