Lavillenie returns to Eugene to defend title – IAAF Diamond League

The world’s best pole vaulter won the Prefontaine Classic last year, in one of the highest quality vault competition ever held in the USA. Renauld Lavillenie returns to the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Eugene on 31 May with an additional accolade – the title of world record holder – and he’s still looking for more.

Report: men’s pole vault final – Sopot 2014

In a men’s pole vault competition sans Renaud Lavillenie, one vaulter rose above the rest. Konstadinos Filippidis progressed through the final with no failures until the winning height of 5.80m, winning the world indoor title with a season’s best.

World Bests for Shakes-Drayton and Felix in Manchester
