The fields for the Ras Al Khamimah Half Marathon continue to go from strength to strength with five-time world champion Geoffrey Kamworor and two-time world 5000m champion Hellen Obiri added to the line-up for the World Athletics Gold Label road race on 19 February.
Evans Chebet and Peres Jepchirchir secured a Kenyan double at the Marathon Valencia Trinidad Alfonso EDP, a World Athletics Platinum Label road race, in the eastern Spanish city on Sunday (6).

For the first time in the history of the championships, the women’s race at the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020 will have two current world record-holders for the distance as Peres Jepchirchir and Ababel Yeshaneh line up against one another on Saturday (17).
Peres Jepchirchir’s 1:05:34 women-only world half marathon record and the one-hour world records from Sifan Hassan (18,930m) and Mo Farah (21,330m) have been ratified.
Along with its World Athletics Platinum Label marathon on 6 December, the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso EDP will also stage an elite half marathon on the same day, and both races have attracted some of the world’s best distance runners.
