With a broad smile Kenyan Moses Mosop, the World record holder on the track for 25,000 and 30,000 metres, presented himself at the pre-race press conference yesterday ahead of Sunday’s 32nd edition of the ABN-AMRO Rotterdam Marathon.
Moses Mosop decimated the long standing World records* on the track for 25,000 metres and 30,000 metres with an uninhibited display of front running at the distance running festival on Friday night (3), the eve of the main competition programme of the Prefontaine Classic – Samsung Diamond League meeting which takes place, Saturday (4).

Tegla Loroupe of Kenya beat the 15 year old World 30,000m record at a small track meeting here on Friday evening, 6 June. Almost a month after her 30th birthday Tegla Loroupe ran 1:45:50.00 for the distance, lowering the mark (1:47:05.6) set by Hungary’s Karolina Szabo in Budapest on 22 April 1988 by 1:15.6 minutes.
