Former president of Congolese Athletics Federation passes away

The IAAF was saddened to be informed of the passing of Colonel Mouassiposso Mackonguy, former President of the Congolese Athletics Federation (CGO), who was one of the founding members of the African Athletics Confederation, the IAAF area association.

Pascal Mouassiposso Mackonguy (born 22 Avril 1934, Itanga Épena, Congo-Brazzaville; died 4 January 2015, Paris, France) was from 1984 to 1999 a member of the IAAF Veteran’s Committee (now Masters’ Committee). For his services to Athletics he received the IAAF Veteran Pin (1982) and IAAF Plaque of Merit (1999).
