IAAF seeking candidates for its Election Oversight Panel

The IAAF is seeking candidates for its Election Oversight Panel for a four-year term beginning in January 2019.

The Election Oversight Panel was established to ensure:

- that all candidates for election to IAAF office conduct their candidacies with honesty, dignity and moderation and in compliance with the Integrity Code of Conduct, the Candidacy Rules and any other applicable IAAF rules and regulations; and
- the proper administration of tasks relating to the organisation, running and supervision of the elections at the IAAF Election Congress.

The Panel members will be appointed by the IAAF Council at its meeting in early December 2018 for the four-year term which covers the two Election Congresses in 2019 and 2023, ending upon the conclusion of the Election Congress in 2023.

The Panel is expected to meet at least two times a year, plus attendance at each Election Congress, and on an ad hoc basis as necessary to respond to issues or meet timeframes. The Panel will conduct its work by email and conference call in between meetings as necessary to fulfil its responsibilities.

It is anticipated that there will be a significant amount of work during the first quarter of 2019, in order to finalise documentation and procedures, and review Candidate applications, for the Election Congress taking place in September 2019.

A full job description and details of how to apply are available here. The deadline for applications is Friday 2 November.
