Dmitri Markov, the 2001 World Pole Vault champion, and Craig Mottram, the 2002 World Cup 3000m winner, head Australia’s squad of eight to compete at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest, Hungary (5 – 7 March), Athletics Australia announced today.

However, most interest will be focused on the rising star of a burgeoning domestic men’s 400m scene, Casey Vincent. The 24 year-old has had a streak of four wins this year outdoors in the Telstra series of meets, topped by last week’s 45.30 PB in Melbourne.

The full Telstra Australian Athletics Team to compete at the World Indoor Championships team is as follows:

400m - Casey Vincent
3000m - Craig Mottram
Pole Vault - Paul Burgess and Dmitri Markov
Triple Jump - Andrew Murphy

Women
