Bolm out for the season

FacebookTwitterEmail

Sprint hurdler Kirsten Bolm had to withdraw from all competitions this season due to a health problem. This was announced by the German athletics federation, Deutscher Leichtathletik-Verband.

Due to another health problem Bolm had started her season late. The 32-year-old appeared at the Oslo Golden League meeting for the first and only time this season. She clocked 13.15 seconds for sixth place in Norway in the 100m Hurdles but then had to withdraw from the German European Cup Team due to what is very likely an inflamed heart muscle.

Kirsten Bolm had won a silver medal at the European Championships a year ago and had placed fourth in the World Championships in 2005. This March she had won a bronze at the European Indoors but then caught a very bad infection afterwards, which might have been the start of the present problem.
