Gold MedallistSergey KIRDYAPKIN, RUS
"I'm happy, but not so emotional yet, because I haven't realised the victory yet."

"The World Champioships were my target. I have been able to train without breaks or injuries the whole season."

"I have been training together with Alexey (VOYEVODIN). I'm used to train in both sunny and rainy conditions, so I was prepared for any weather. Today's weather is ideal, luckily it wasn't raining anymore like it did for the 3 last days."

"I was a little bit tired at the 25km, but then I found the speed again. We walked together with Alexey (VOYEVODIN) until 25km. At that point he asked me, if I had any problems, but everything was all right."

Silver Medallist - Aleksey VOYEVODIN, RUS
"Until 25km we walked together with Sergey (KIRDYAPKIN), but after that I did my own race with steady pace."

"The season has been difficult due to some injuries."

"The main thing was to beat the Chinese (ZHAO) and I did it. Everything went as I had planned."

Bronze Medallist - Alex SCHWAZER, ITA
"I have no words to express my feelings. I didn't expect anything like this. I was hoping that maybe I could break Italian under 23 years' record of araund 3:47."

"It was hard. The 50k is always hard, but with a blister in my heel I was just counting the laps and hoping the race to end. At that point I would have been happy just to be able to finish. In the beginning I was just walking and controlling my heart rate. After three hours, around 40 km I started my competition and walked as fast as I could."
