After 13 months of injury the Netherlands’ Lornah Kiplagat, the World Half Marathon recordholder made her comeback this Sunday afternoon (28) at the 3rd Runner’s World Zandvoort Circuit Run in Zandvoort, Holland.

She ran a test over 5 kilometres at the former F1 circuit. Kiplagat was very pleased with her time and her race, which she won in 16:58, and mentioned afterwards she was happy to be back after an injury to her right knee. Kiplagat had never run on a race circuit, which she found very challenging.

“Because you are kept busy with the different heights and curves, you don’t notice that you run. So I was surprised to be back so quickly,” Kiplagat said.

"It is fast, I wasn’t expecting that. I had so much fun being among the other women and run with them. I especially choose this event, because I didn’t want to run against my opponents yet, but wanted to taste the atmosphere of a competition.”
