Conor McCULLOUGH (USA)GOLD MEDAL80.79m (CR)

The atmosphere was great, I was rested up, it all seemed to come together, so it felt good.

I think it was (important). I think it put the pressure on right away and that was essential.

The ring is great, the atmosphere is great and my technique was just about on.

Feeling the ring was the main part, because the practice rings and the rings in the stadiums aren’t always the same, but it came together well.

He (my father) is doing well. He had some surgery, he fell down some steps and had to fly home three or four days ago, but the surgery went well. The whole team was helping out. I didn’t have to worry about it too much.

Improve. That’s what I want to do.

Akos HUDI (HUN) SILVER MEDAL - 78.37m

I was working [very hard], and I had a lot of training. I wanted to throw 80 m. It was close.

I am feeling happy.

I have a competition the tenth of August, and I want to throw over 74 metres. It’s the Hungary championships.

Alaa El-Din EL-ASHRY (EGY) - BRONZE MEDAL - 76.66m

Thank God, it was very good, and the weather was nice for this one.

It’s difficult for me to express it right now, but I’m very happy.

[On highly-ranked opponents] For sure, there were several, but with the help of God, I beat them.

I knew I was going to do my best. I threw better than my personal best four times.

I would like to be first next time. The difference between myself and the first place is very small.
