NEWS FLASH - World 4x100m record, 37.10 sec – BOLT and JAMAICA again!

Usain Bolt took his third gold medal and World record of these Olympic Games when running the final bend of the 4x100m relay for the Jamaican squad.

Nesta Carter, Michael Frater, Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell powered away to 37.10 sec win to break the USA’s World mark of 37.40* set in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, 8 Aug, and equalled by another US squad at the World championships in Stuttgart, 21 Aug 1993.

Behind the Jamaican charge silver was taken at a distance by Trinidad and Tobago (38.06) and bronze went to Japan (38.15).

Bolt now holds three Olympic titles – 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.
