Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan has ended a successful season, on and off the track, with her victory on Sunday in Britain's Great North Run.
O'Sullivan completed the half marathon distance course in 1:11:50, in typically cold Northern England weather conditions, adding the win to her doubles in both the short and long course races in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Marrakech in March and the 5000m and 10,000m European titles in this year's European Championships in Budapest in August.
