World-leading jumpers Pedro Pablo Pichardo and Yarisley Silva lead Cuba’s team of 34 athletes for the IAAF World Championships, Beijing 2015.

Pichardo took silver in the triple jump two years ago in Moscow, but will be looking to go one better in Beijing after leaping a world-leading 18.08m earlier this year in Havana.

World indoor champion Silva, who finished third in Moscow, heads to the Chinese capital as the top pole vaulter in the world this year, having cleared 4.91m in Beckum earlier this month.

The team also includes 16-year-old world youth long jump champion Maykel Masso, who is set to be the youngest competitor in Beijing.
