Inspired by former world record-holder Roman Sebrle and three-time world champion Tomas Dvorak, Jiri Sykora wants to win what no other Czech man has accomplished: the global junior title.

And he has shown he is ready to rise to occasion following his national junior records in both the junior decathlon (8047) and the senior decathlon (7927), the latter surpassing the previous mark set by Dvorak.

Germany’s Tim Nowak, South Africa’s Friedrich Pretorius, Russia’s Roman Kondryatyev and Cuba’s Santiago Ford should also feature high in the final standings.
