WE'RE PASSING THE BATON TO YOU TO HELP US WELCOME THE WORLD!

The World Athletics Championships are coming to the United States for the first time ever this July. Eugene, Oregon will host the biggest track and field event on the planet in 2022! Help show over 2,000 athletes from 200-plus countries the way by joining our World Wide Welcome Youth Relay, presented by The Daily Mile!

The Making Tracks Youth Engagement Program invites schools, youth program groups, or youth track teams across Oregon and the United States to join in helping welcome the nations of the world to Oregon by taking on a leg of the World Wide Welcome (WWW) Youth Relay! Each leg is one mile in length, but how you get to the finish line is up to your group. Jog together, race together, or even break it up into a sprint relay. Youth of all abilities and fitness levels are encouraged to participate and groups do not need to identify as track teams or other sports groups to register. Youth may run, jog, walk, utilize adaptive equipment, or use other accommodations as needed to participate in one mile of physical activity. Each leg of the youth relay is dedicated to one of the 200-plus global track and field teams on their way to WCH Oregon22. The first 200 registered groups will be assigned a nation to welcome; receive a relay leg kit including your official WWW relay baton, banners, and flags; and have the chance to submit a welcome message for your paired nation that will be shared with these international athletes in the athlete village at WCH Oregon22!

The World Wide Welcome Youth Relay will take place over the 100-day countdown to the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 - from April 8 to July 14. You’ll select a date for your group’s participation during this window when you register.

Participating groups will have a special opportunity to participate in the finale of the World Wide Welcome and 100th day of the relay at the opening session of the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon on July 15!

It's not too late to be join the Welcome - limited spots still available! If you have questions or need group registration support contact us at makingtracks@worldchampsoregon22.com.
