Edwards set three world and 7 British records in 1995. after taking the world record to 17.98 at Salamanca, he achieved the unprecedented feat of world records on his first two jumps in the World Championships final in Göteborg - 18.16 and 18.29. His run of 22 successive victories 1995-96 was anded by Kenny Harrison at the 1996 Olympic Games. By winning the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, Jonathan Edwards achieved the Track and Field Grand Slam of gold medals at OlympicGames, World Championships, European Championships and Commonwelath Games.
