MonteCarloThe IAAF has issued Labels to a number of leading Road Races around the world for 2008.
Following the recommendations of the IAAF Road Running Commission, chaired by President Lamine Diack, Council approved the introduction of the IAAF Label for Road Races in 2008.
The Labels are attributed to races that satisfy a number of important criteria concerning the organizational standard of the race, course measurement, safety and medical standards and media services. The deciding factors for the attribution of a Gold or Silver Label are the number of elite athletes engaged and the level of international TV coverage achieved by the participating races.
For 2008, the following races have been awarded IAAF Road Race Labels:
IAAF ATTRIBUE DES LABELS D’OR ET D’ARGENT AUX MEILLEURES COURSES SUR ROUTE
20 décembre 2007 - Monte Carlo – L’IAAF a créé une appellation labellisée pour les meilleures courses sur route du monde en 2008.
Le Conseil de l’IAAF a approuvé l’introduction des Labels IAAF en 2008, suivant en cela les recommandations émises par la Commission de Courses sur route dirigée par le Président Lamine Diack.
Les Labels ont été attribués aux courses qui ont satisfait un certain nombre d’exigences relatives à l’organisation, au mesurage du parcours, aux normes de sécurité, aux critères médicaux et aux services destinés à la presse. C’est le nombre de coureurs d’élite engagés et l’importance de la couverture télévisuelle obtenue par les courses participantes qui ont été déterminants dans l’attribution de ces labels d’Or ou d’Argent.
