The three reigning global champions in the sprint hurdles – Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, world champion Danielle Williams and world indoor champion Devynne Charlton – will go head to head at the Yangtze Delta Athletics Diamond Gala, part of the Wanda Diamond League, in Suzhou on 27 April.

Bahamian star Charlton is hoping to claim her first ever Diamond League win this season, as she looks to translate her world-beating indoor form into the outdoor season. Charlton twice broke the world indoor 60m hurdles record earlier this year, first with 7.67 in New York and then with 7.65 to take gold at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Camacho-Quinn is a seasoned Diamond League campaigner, with no fewer than nine victories on the circuit since 2021. The Olympic champion and world silver medallist will be hoping to pick up a first career Diamond Trophy in 2024.

Jamaican star Williams regained the world title last year, eight years after her first global gold. In between her two World Championships triumphs, she was also crowned Diamond League champion in 2019.

Chinese hopes will rest with World University Games silver medallist Wu Yanni, who last year clocked a PB of 12.76.

Along with the season opener in Xiamen on 20 April, the Suzhou/Shanghai meeting will be the second of two Chinese events which kick off the 2024 Wanda Diamond League season.
