The IAAF hosted a meeting of the Bureau of the Section on Sport Archives of the International Council on Archives from 13 to 15 December 2016.
The International Council on Archives (ICA) is dedicated to the effective management of records and the preservation, care and use of the world's archival heritage through its representation of records and archive professionals across the globe.
The ICA believes that effective records and archives management is an essential precondition for good governance, the rule of law, administrative transparency, the preservation of mankind's collective memory, and access to information by citizens.
The Section on Sport Archives (SPO) aims to raise awareness of the importance and relevance of sport archives. SPO works to achieve this objective by spreading information and technical knowledge and engaging both international and national bodies.

L'IAAF a accueilli une réunion du Bureau de la Section des Archives du Sport du Conseil International des Archives du 13 au 15 décembre 2016.
Le Conseil International des Archives (ICA) est dédié à la gestion efficace des documents et à la préservation, l'entretien et l'utilisation du patrimoine archivistique mondial grâce à sa représentation des professionnels des documents et des archives à travers le monde.
L'ICA est convaincue qu'une gestion efficace des documents et des archives est une condition préalable essentielle à la bonne gouvernance, à l'état de droit, à la transparence administrative, à la préservation de la mémoire collective de l'humanité et à l'accès à l'information par les citoyens.
La section des Archives du Sport (SPO) vise à faire prendre conscience de l'importance et de la pertinence des archives du sport. La SPO travaille à atteindre cet objectif en diffusant des informations et des connaissances techniques, et en impliquant et en collaborant avec les organisations tant nationales qu’internationales.
